• image The main function of water methanol injection is preventing detonation. Detonation is caused by high temperatures and pressure developed in the combustion chamber. Water has a high latent heat content, which makes it extremely effective at preventing the onset of detonation. Water injection also reduces the production of NOx (oxides of nitrogen). Methanol, with its 116 octane and high flash point, further reduces the chances of detonation. While water is not combustible, it has a greater capacity to cool the intake air temps more than methanol alone. This is why we recommend a 50/50 mixture being misted into your boosted engine. Methanol also effectively increases the octane rating of the fuel, allowing performance gains when used in supercharged and turbocharged applications.

  • image With 14 channels capable of controlling injection and ignition duties, the Platinum Sport 2000 can support most modern engines (including 3 rotor engines) with multi-coil or conventional distributor ignition systems as well as aftermarket CDI systems. It is capable of controlling sequential injection on 4,6,8,10 & 12 cylinder engines and direct fire ignition for engines up to 6 cylinders, or wasted spark ignition on engines up to 8 cylinders.

  • image Using an Octane Booster increases the octane of the fuel. Better octane fuel increases the efficiency of the engine resulting in better power and peformance, better fuel economy, smoother running, and protects the motor by reducing pre-ignition, detonation and pinging. Carbon build up is also reduced. Higher octane fuel allows the timing to be advanced resulting in better efficiency. Modern vehicles will detect the better fuel and adjust the timing themselves, other vehicles can be tuned on a dyno to take advantage of the better fuel.
